The DIV‑LMCI adapts the methodology of the Kansas City Fed's Labor Market Conditions Indicators to construct new, more granular measures of labor market activity and momentum for each of the nine U.S. Census divisions. The DIV-LMCI measures draw on a wide range of labor-market variables to provide region‑specific summaries of labor‑market performance. These measures highlight meaningful differences in labor market conditions across regions and provide a consistent way to compare labor market conditions in these regions over time.

The Economic Review article "Assessing Labor Market Conditions Across Regions" provides further details on the indexes and their construction. Included below are a downloadable CSV and customizable plots of the entire history of the DIV-LMCI. Data are updated on a quarterly basis.
