Stefan Jacewitz recently joined the Kansas City Fed’s Economic Research Division. As a research and policy officer, Jacewitz will lead the department’s analysis of the banking sector and the financial system.

Jacewitz has 12 years of experience in banking research, regulation and supervision. For the last seven years he served as chief of the Quantitative Risk Analysis Section at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Washington. Earlier Jacewitz served as a senior financial economist at the FDIC. He has published academic papers in the Journal of Econometrics and the Journal of Financial Services Research and has authored several staff reports, mainly concerning community banks.

Jacewitz has undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Oklahoma and a doctoral degree in Economics from Texas A&M University.
