Elizabeth (Liz) Cook is a Senior Manager in Economic Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where she leads both the research editing department and the research associate program. Prior to joining the Bank in 2014, she was Assistant Director of the Greater Kansas City Writing Project and Managing Editor at the journal Poverty and Public Policy. In 2024, she completed a six-month detail to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Stability Oversight Council, where she served as Senior Editor and Data Visualization Manager for the Council’s Annual Report to Congress. She holds a BA in English and Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa and an MFA in Creative Writing and Media Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has also completed the Poynter/ACES certificate program in editing.
