The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City released the October Manufacturing Survey today. According to Cortney Cowley, assistant vice president and Oklahoma City Branch executive, the survey revealed that activity in the Tenth District manufacturing sector increased steadily, and expectations for future activity remained expansionary.
“District manufacturing activity continued at a solid pace in October, and firms expect activity to increase in the near-term,” said Cowley. “Over half of firms reported their customers are more sensitive to price changes now than six months ago.”
A summary of the October survey is below. The October survey incorporates new seasonal adjustment factors using Census X-13 ARIMA-SEATS, so historical indexes differ slightly from previously released numbers. The new seasonal factors will be used throughout 2026.
