Brenda Sharpe was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2024. As president and chief executive officer of the REACH Healthcare Foundation, Sharpe seeks to advance health equity through coverage and care for underserved people in the Kansas City region, with a service area that includes Allen, Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, and Cass, Jackson and Lafayette counties in Missouri.
Sharpe was appointed to the Kansas State Board of Nursing by Governor Laura Kelly in 2022, and currently serves on the boards of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Johnson County Community College Foundation.
Sharpe holds a bachelor’s in human development and family studies and a master’s in counselor education from Kansas State University.
