Biography

Susan (Sue) L. Martin joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Omaha Branch Board of Directors in 2022.

Ms. Martin is the president and secretary-treasurer of the Nebraska State AFL-CIO and has served in this capacity since 2015, when she was elected as the first female president. Before she was elected president and secretary-treasurer, she served on the Nebraska State AFL-CIO Executive Board from 2004-2015.

Ms. Martin has been a member of the Nebraska Association of Public Employees/American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees Local 61 since 1996 and, during that time, served on the executive board as secretary, then treasurer. She was also a delegate to the Lincoln Central Labor Union, serving on the executive board as treasurer from 2008 to 2015. Before being elected as president and secretary-treasurer, Ms. Martin worked for the Nebraska Department of Education as an applications developer working with K-12 schools on data collection and research.

Currently, she serves on the following boards: AFL-CIO General Board, AFL-CIO State Federation/Central Labor Council Advisory Committee, Nebraska Workforce Development, UNO William Brennan Institute for Labor Studies Advisory Committee and the Lincoln/Lancaster County United Way. Ms. Martin resides in Lincoln, Nebraska, with her husband, Denny.
