Biography

Janice J. Lucero was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver Branch Board of Directors in 2022.

Ms. Lucero is founder, president and chief executive officer of MVD Express, a private company that has offered Motor Vehicle Division services throughout New Mexico since 1994 and Montana since 2017. MVD Express employs more than 200 people and has processed more than five million driver licenses, titles, and vehicle registrations to citizens across New Mexico and Montana. MVD Express staff engage over 400,000 consumers a year in their customer service centers. Ms. Lucero spent 15 years in the education field before starting MVD Express.

Among her many awards and honors, Ms. Lucero was named the SBA New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year in 2011, was a 2013 Woman of Influence by New Mexico Business First, was named one of New Mexico’s “Top 25 Women in Business” by New Mexico Woman Magazine, and named a 2010 “Top CEO” by New Mexico Business Weekly.

Ms. Lucero is a 21-year member of Vistage International Organization of CEOs and has sat on the boards of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Central New Mexico and the Roadrunner Food Bank board of directors for 11 years. Ms. Lucero has served on the Presbyterian Hospital Central New Mexico board of trustees since 2016.

Ms. Lucero earned a Bachelor of Science and MA degrees in Education at the University of New Mexico.
