Kevin Classen serves as the Tenth District's Federal Advisory Council member and is president and chief executive officer of FirstBank.

Mr. Classen has been with FirstBank for 26 years is a member of the FirstBank Board of Directors and leads the FirstBank senior leadership team. Prior to being named CEO in 2024, he served as FirstBank president for three years, and spent four years as president of FirstBank’s Boulder Market in Colorado. Prior to that he spent ten years in Arizona working to establish the FirstBank brand and locations throughout the Phoenix metro area. Earlier in his career, he also worked in FirstBank’s downtown Denver and Eagle County Markets.

In addition to being active with various business groups in the Denver metro area, Mr. Classen is a member of the Colorado Bankers Association, the American Bankers Association, and the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America. Current and past community affiliations include Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Board member and Finance Committee Chair; Community Food Share, Board Chair; YMCA of Metro Denver Downtown Branch, board member; and Enterprise Foundation’s Housing Development Project, board member.

Prior to relocating to Colorado in early 2017, Mr. Classen served as a board member and finance committee member at Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona, and as a board and finance committee member of Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services (STARS). He was also a credit committee member of the Phoenix chapter of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). LISC is a non-profit entity specializing in housing solutions for distressed neighborhoods in the Phoenix metro area. He remains a Grande member of the Scottsdale Charros, a non-profit organization with a focus on education and community support in Scottsdale. Mr. Classen was also an Honorary Commander at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ, and on the board of the West Valley Arts Council.

Mr. Classen is a 1998 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in finance and earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
