General Session I: Getting a Seat at the Table
One of the most common frustrations and questions asked by women, people of color and by D & I professionals is the proverbial, "How do I get a seat at the table?” This is not a new question; it’s an ongoing conversation that’s been occurring for decades. More and more professionals report that they want to be recognized as valuable contributors in important business decisions, gain the credibility and visibility that their counterparts experience (often with less effort), and that they want access to opportunities. Likewise, they want to be acknowledged for their knowledge, skills, ideas, and rewarded for their performance and impact to the business goals. Unfortunately, while the global workforce demographics have shifted significantly over the past 20 years, too many minorities still experience microaggressions, being overlooked, marginalized, and undervalued, and still do not have a seat at the table.
In this presentation, Dr. Shirley Davis will identify the key skills and behaviors and at least 12 proven strategies and techniques that will enable minority professionals to not just "earn a seat” at the senior leadership table, but how to sustain their level of influence and impact in their organizations. Participants can begin implementing these practical tips immediately back on the job.

General Session II: Remaining Powerful and Relevant in a Male Dominated Workforce
Where are women leading and where are they lagging in today’s changing workforce? It’s now a reality that women hold the “majority” in representation of the global workforce. Research proves and experts continue to indicate that “by increasing women’s participation in the economy and enhancing their efficiency and productivity, we can have a dramatic impact on the competitiveness and growth of our economies.” And while women continue to make significant progress worldwide with each passing generation, they still lag behind in key areas that contribute to economic sustainability and workforce inclusion.
In this informative session, Dr. Shirley Davis will share her expertise and perspectives from recent research and emerging trends on how far women have come in achieving equality in the workforce, and how much further we need to progress. Additionally, she will offer some key strategies on how organizations can become employers of choice for women, then boost performance, innovation, engagement and inclusion by capitalizing on the power of women in the global workforce.
Lastly, she will offer some lessons in leadership and a framework for how women can navigate their way up and across the organization to better position themselves for success in senior and executive level roles.Dr. Shirley Davis
