Subscribe Share Employer Laptop Challenge: See the impact As part of an ongoing digital inclusion initiative, Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank employees supplied 75 used Bank computers to Tenth District nonprofits in early 2020. Kansas City nonprofit Connecting for Good refurbished the laptops before being delivered to their final destinations. Connecting for Good helps low-income communities with digital literacy training and access to technology through its computer restoration program. The Center for Work Education and Employment in Denver, Colorado, will use the donated laptops to support low-income parents. Senior Community Development Advisor Ariel Cisneros (second from right) and Senior Administrative Assistant Laurie Groth (right) delivered 10 laptops to the organization. The Center for Employment Opportunities, an organization that supports formerly incarcerated Oklahomans with job training, received 8 laptops. Senior Community Development Advisor Steve Shepelwich (left) dropped off the computers, which will help clients apply for jobs online and practice digital skills. Senior Community Development Advisor Dell Gines (left) delivered 10 laptops to ConnectLNK, in Lincoln, Nebraska. The laptops will help provide digital skills training and computer access to low-income residents of a historically distressed neighborhood. The Denver Housing Authority operates safe and affordable housing in Denver, Colorado. Senior Community Development Advisor Ariel Cisneros (second from right) and Senior Administrative Assistant Laurie Groth (right) dropped off 12 laptops to the organization to help seniors and other residents learn basic digital skills. Senior Community Development Advisor Steve Sheplewich (top right) delivered seven laptops to the Perkins Public Library in Perkins, Oklahoma. The library will use the laptops to teach students how to code. reStart, Inc. in Olathe, Kansas, is one of the region’s largest homeless-serving agencies.
