Biography

Katie Powell joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver Branch Board of Directors in 2026. She previously served on the Tenth District Economic Advisory Council.

Ms. Powell is president of Munro Companies, Inc., the Grand Junction, Colorado based parent organization of Munro, a manufacturer of pumps, pump controls, pumping stations and related products for the irrigation industry, and Munro Supply, an industrial supply distributor serving Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. Under her leadership, the privately-held family company has strengthened its operational excellence and deepened its commitment to customers and regional economic growth.

Following more than a decade of leadership experience in private enterprise and government organizations, Ms. Powell joined Munro Companies in 2012. She has held roles across business strategy, operations, and executive management, culminating in her appointment as president in 2019. Her leadership has driven modernization initiatives, quality system enhancements, and strong operational performance.

Active in industry and economic development, Ms. Powell currently serves on the boards of the International Irrigation Association, the Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Association, and the Grand Junction Business Incubator Center. She is a former chairman of the Board of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Powell has been recognized for her leadership in manufacturing, including honors as Colorado Industrial Manufacturer of the Year and a finalist for Manufacturing Woman of the Year.

Ms. Powell brings to the Denver Branch Board a deep understanding of regional business conditions, the manufacturing and distribution sectors, and the dynamics of rural and Western U.S. economies. Her experience provides the Board with valuable insights into the interplay between industry trends and broader economic conditions across the Tenth Federal Reserve District.
