Steve Martin was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Economic Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2014. Martin is the president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) based in Omaha. Established in 1939, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a community-based, member-owned health insurance company serving nearly 1 million people.
In addition to his community and civic involvement, Martin serves on the boards of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Prime Therapeutics LLC, Travel and Transport, Inc., and he is chair of the BCS Financial Corporation board. He is a trustee for the Washburn University Foundation and a trustee of the University of Nebraska Foundation.
Martin earned a Bachelor of Science from Washburn University and a Master of Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
