Shawn Reese was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2018. As CEO of the Wyoming Business Council, the state's economic development organization, Reese works with private businesses, state agencies, local governments, local economic development groups and nonprofits to grow and diversify the state's economy, create jobs and enhance quality of life. The Wyoming Business Council seeks to retain and expand existing businesses, recruit targeted businesses and partner with communities to develop infrastructure to become business-ready.
Prior to becoming the Wyoming Business Council's CEO in 2014, Reese was the organization's director of Investment Ready Communities for 2007-2011. In 2011, he was appointed as the policy director for Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead.
Reese is a member of the Wyoming governor's cabinet and is a leader in the development of the state's 20-year economic development strategy. He is a Cheyenne native and a graduate of the University of Wyoming.
