Kyle Heckman joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Board of Directors in 2019. He previously served on the Tenth District Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council.
Mr. Heckman is the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Flatirons Bank, a community bank primarily serving Boulder County, Colorado. He previously worked in investment banking and risk management at Bank of America in San Francisco, London, and Denver, and in management consulting at Accenture in Denver.
He is an elected director of the Independent Bankers of Colorado, and an advisory board member for the Burridge Center for Finance at University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business and the Ridge Mountain Academy in Whitefish, Montana. He is also a member of the Boulder Rotary Club.
Mr. Heckman was recognized by the Boulder County Business Report as one of the top "Forty Under 40" business leaders in both 2011 and 2015.
Mr. Heckman attended both undergraduate and graduate school at the University of Colorado Boulder, earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics, a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in Finance, and a Master of Business Administration.
Mr. Heckman is a violinist, regularly engaging in string quartet music, and is a past board member and board president of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also an instrument rated private pilot, an aviation enthusiast, and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
