Mark your calendars for an Investment Connection event near you. This is your opportunity to attend a unique program designed to learn about exciting proposals from community and economic development organizations that are seeking investments, grants or loans to meet community needs.

Investment Connection is designed to match financial institutions, corporate enterprises and community foundations with nonprofit and community organizations that have proposals and need an investment, grant or loan. This is a convenient way for funders to learn about multiple proposals, new partnerships and promising investment opportunities as well as to educate Community Reinvestment Act officers about opportunities in the markets they serve.

Here are the dates and locations for the 2014 events:
  • Sept. 4, Kansas City, Mo.
  • Oct. 2, Lincoln, Neb.
  • Nov. 19, Denver, Colo.
  • Nov. 20, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Proposal requests for funding range from $15,000 to $2.5 million, with diverse geographic target areas including single-community development to statewide efforts. Though funding is important, the Investment Connection program also provides opportunities to inform funders about critical needs facing low- and moderate-income populations.

Proposals may address:
  • Asset Building/Financial Education
  • Community Facilities
  • Small Business Development/Microlending
  • Neighborhood Stabilization/Affordable Housing
  • Workforce Development
