Biography

Mark Zaback was elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Board of Directors in 2016.  Prior to this he served on the Denver Branch Board of Directors since 2010.  He is president, chief executive officer and board member of Jonah Bank of Wyoming. A DeNovo Charter in 2006, Jonah Bank is headquartered in Casper, Wyoming and now has two locations in Casper and two in Cheyenne. As of October 31, 2015, the bank employed 75 and had total assets of more than $300 million. A true community bank, the bank’s mission is to “Build a Better Wyoming.”

Mr. Zaback was born in Minot, North Dakota, grew up in Hastings, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1977 with a BS in Business Administration. A career banker, he started his banking career the same day he started college in September of 1973 with First National Bank of Lincoln. Mark and his wife Karen moved to Casper in 1982 and moved to Cheyenne in 1986. While in Cheyenne, Mark had the opportunity to be a part of senior management of three different banks over the next 20 years. The opportunity to be a founding owner of Jonah Bank brought them back to Casper in 2006.

Mr. Zaback has been very involved over the years in both professional and community organizations. He currently serves on the Casper College Foundation Board, Casper Child Development Center Foundation Board, Center for Cowboy Ethics and Leadership Board, and Wyoming State Treasurer’s Advisory Committee. He was honored as Cheyenne Chamber’s Person of the Year in 1998 and was recognized by the Independent Community Bankers of America as the Western Regional Banker of the Year in 2014.      

When not working, Mr. Zaback enjoys golfing, fishing, snow skiing and spending time with family. He and his wife, Karen, have four children and four grandchildren.
