Eric Butler was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Omaha Branch Board in 2015. Mr. Butler is the retired executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Union Pacific Railroad. In his position, he was responsible for developing and leading companywide strategic planning initiatives, along with overseeing human resources, labor relations and general administration
Previously, Mr. Butler served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, a position he held since March 2012, after serving seven years as vice president and general manager - Industrial Products and two years as vice president and general manager - Automotive. Since joining the railroad in 1986, Mr. Butler has held a number of positions including Vice President – Supply & Purchasing and Vice President - Planning & Analysis.
Mr. Butler graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1981 and an MSIA in 1986, both from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
