The Audit Division provides independent, objective recommendations to improve the Kansas City Fed's operations. It helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, including management's identification of fraud risk and the implementation of fraud controls.
The Cash department performs several functions for the Federal Reserve System. These include supplying currency and coin to depository institutions; receiving and verifying deposits of unfit or excess currency and coins; circulating new currency from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and new coin from the U.S. Mint; and destroying currency that is unfit for recirculation.
The Community Affairs department helps stakeholders and communities respond to emerging challenges through the use of research, relationship building and resource development. A focus is placed on community development investments, consumer financial stability, economic development, neighborhood stabilization and sustainability for organizations.
Customer Contact Center
The Customer Contact Center (CCC) is committed to providing high-quality technical support and accurate service implementation for Federal Reserve Financial Services and preserving the security, integrity, and reliability of the access environment for our customers. The CCC provides service setup and sales support, technical support, credential management, and a Federal Reserve consumer help center.
Customer Relations and Support Office
The Customer Relations and Support Office (CRSO) is responsible for strengthening relationships with the Federal Reserve System's financial services customers and promoting a national brand for System products and services. This includes managing the System's national and regional sales activities, coordinating customer communication, conducting targeted market research, tracking industry trends and training CRSO account executives.
The Facilities Management department is responsible for the efficient use and maintenance of the building. Staff also is responsible for a variety of support services including cleaning, copying/printing, mailing, dining and conference center support.
The Financial Management department is responsible for coordinating the development of the Kansas City Fed’s annual budget; monitoring its financial performance in relationship to the approved budget; and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines, acquisition guidelines, and travel policies.
The Human Resources department is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to meet the evolving needs and challenges of the Kansas City Fed's workforce and environment, including employee benefits, compensation and more.
The mission of the Public Affairs department is to increase the public's knowledge of the Federal Reserve and its purpose and functions. Public Affairs communicates information about the Kansas City Fed to employees and outside audiences through its publications, website, intranet, events, economic education efforts and onsite Money Museum.
Wholesale Operations Site
The Kansas City Wholesale Operations Site (WOS), along with the Boston Reserve Bank WOS, provides operations support to the Federal Reserve Districts for the Fedwire Funds and Securities services, which includes the timely and accurate processing of wire and securities transfers. The WOS also plays an active role in contingency-related initiatives, providing back-up for select duties performed by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
