Christopher C. Turner was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Oklahoma City Branch Board of Directors in 2018.   

Mr. Turner is President and Chief Financial Officer of The First State Bank in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  After retiring from International Bank of Commerce Bank (IBC) in 2007, he, along with two partners, raised funds to acquire The First State Bank.  The acquisition was completed in April 2009 and since then the Bank has added two branch locations in Midwest City and Northwest Oklahoma City and has grown from $20 million to over $325 million in assets.

Mr. Turner previously worked for Local Oklahoma Bank for 24 years, prior to its acquisition by IBC Bank in 2004.  During his tenure he held several positions including Internal Audit Director, Marketing Director, Director of Mergers and Acquisitions and Executive Vice President for Branch Administration and Retail Sales. 

Mr. Turner is a founding member and Past President of the Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) Chapter in Oklahoma City, formerly known as the National Association of Urban Bankers.  He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City, where he served as First Vice Chairman and Chair of the Audit Committee and remains a lifetime member.

Mr. Turner is a past Chairman of the Board of INTEGRIS Baptist Hospital, and serves on the Board of its parent, INTEGRIS Health Corporation, where he chairs the Audit Committee.  He has served on the boards of Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation, Oklahoma State Fair, Positive Tomorrows, Marcella Guthrie Scholarship Fund, MAPS 3 Advisory Board, The Alliance for Economic Development and numerous other non-profit organizations.  He is a member of Leadership Oklahoma City Fast Track Class of 2005.

Mr. Turner has been confirmed by the State Senate to serve on a variety of committees providing direction to the State of Oklahoma in the areas of education, commerce and workforce development.  He is also the recipient of the 2003 Wall of Fame Humanitarian Award by the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation.

A native Oklahoman, Mr. Turner began his college career at Morehouse College in Atlanta, and completed his education at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, receiving a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is married and has two sons.
