It is aimed at building your financial knowledge so you can deal with your own money more quickly, confidently and shrewdly. Use this site to find classes and events near you. Most events are free and offer unbiased financial education.
Money Smart Nebraska is a creation of the Nebraska Financial Education Coalition, a non-profit coalition created to help Nebraskans of all ages improve their level of financial literacy. Nebraska’s initiative is similar to successful financial literacy awareness weeks run by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as well as the Smart Money Week campaign in the Kearney, Nebraska area. Every area of Nebraska is invited to participate. The main goal of Money Smart Nebraska is to provide workshops, seminars, programs and events to help you and your family, students, homeowners, businesspersons, employees and other community members expand your opportunities through improved financial literacy. | Annual Report The Money Smart Nebraska Week 2009 Annual report is now available. Please review the report for a summary of 2009 activities. It can also be used to help recruit new partners for the 2010 week. |

| Money Smart Kid 2010 Essay Contest The Money Smart Kid essay contest is open to all Nebraska students in grades 6-8. The top essay will win a $1000 College Savings Plan of Nebraska account. Address this year's topic: Please explain why savings is important, what you are currently saving money for and what savings steps you are taking to help achieve your goal.
