The Asset Building in the Heartland Forum will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and researchers focused on asset-building and broader rural development initiatives to develop recommendations for expanding innovative asset-building policies, strategies and programs within rural areas.
Through this forum, participants will:
- Develop an understanding of policy issues and leverage points related to asset building in rural areas,
- Examine existing models and initiatives to gain a grounded understanding of options and opportunities,
- Strengthen connections between rural and urban asset-building practitioners and experiences, and
- Identify specific actions to further asset building-policy and practice within rural communities.
This forum is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Banks of Kansas City, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, and St. Louis, and CFED. This regional forum is the third in a series hosted by the Community Affairs offices of the Federal Reserve System and CFED entitled Innovations in Asset-Building Policy, Products, and Programs. Additional information about the forum series is available at www.assetbuildingforums.org.
