The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Center for Economic Education are pleased to offer Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas area teachers the opportunity to participate in Teach Children to Save Day, April 21-22, 2009.

Teach Children to Save Day is a national initiative established by the American Bankers Association (ABA) Education Foundation as a means for the banking industry to show its support for teaching children money management skills and the value of saving money.

On April 21 and 22, local volunteers will be available on a first come-first served basis to make presentations in your first-, second-, or third-grade classrooms on the topic of savings. The presentations last approximately 45-minutes and include a lesson, handouts, and a coloring book and piggy bank for each student, free of charge. If we are unable to accommodate your request for a volunteer you may request a copy of the lesson plan and associated materials, excluding coloring books and piggy banks.

We know that personal financial education can make a lasting difference in a child's life. We look forward to helping teach the next generation the value of saving.
