FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF KANSAS CITY
RESTRUCTURING DENVER BRANCH
The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City today announced a change in the
structure of its Denver Branch with the addition of a regional economist
who will serve as the lead Branch officer.
Michael Orlando, currently a senior economist at the Federal Reserve
Bank of Kansas City, has been promoted to Branch Executive of the Denver
office. Michael joined the Bank in 2000 and has conducted research on a
number of topics related to the economy of the Tenth Federal Reserve
District. He received a B.S. in petroleum and natural gas engineering
from The Pennsylvania State University, and an M.B.A. from Tulane
University. He earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from
Washington University in St. Louis.
“Michael has the credentials and experience in regional economics to
contribute substantially to the Federal Reserve’s understanding of
regional economic conditions in this new position,” said Thomas M.
Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. “He will
conduct regional economic research; expand on our current relationships
with banking, business and community leaders within the region; and work
closely with the Branch directors, who have a critical role in our
organization.”
Michael will assume his new position January 3, 2006.
In addition to economic research, the Denver Branch will continue to
conduct bank supervision, community affairs and public affairs
activities, and cash and check processing operations.
