FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF KANSAS CITY
RESTRUCTURING OKLAHOMA CITY BRANCH
The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City today announced a change in the
structure of its Oklahoma City Branch with the addition of a regional
economist who will serve as the lead Branch officer.
Chad Wilkerson, currently a policy economist at the Federal Reserve Bank
of Kansas City, has been promoted to Branch Executive of the Oklahoma
City office. Chad joined the Bank in 1998 and has conducted research on
a number of topics related to the economy of the Tenth Federal Reserve
District. In his current position, he provides the Bank with advice on
monetary policy based on regional economic data and information gathered
from Tenth District business contacts. He holds a master’s degree from
the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree from William Jewell
College in Liberty, Missouri.
“Chad has the credentials and experience in regional economics to
contribute substantially to the Federal Reserve’s understanding of
regional economic conditions in this new position,” said Thomas M.
Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. “He will
conduct regional economic research; expand on our current relationships
with banking, business and community leaders within the region; and work
closely with the Branch directors, who have a critical role in our
organization.”
Chad will assume his new position January 3, 2006.
In addition to economic research, the Oklahoma City Branch will continue
to conduct bank supervision, community affairs and public affairs
activities. As previously announced, the Branch is currently in the
process of transitioning out of its cash and check processing
operations. In connection with these changes, the Bank’s Board of
Directors has decided to sell the Branch building at 226 Dean A. McGee
Ave. and relocate the Branch into Oklahoma City office space more suited
for the Branch’s new structure and responsibilities. No timeline has
been set for the sale, and no decisions have been made about the new
location.
