2006 Regulatory Update Seminar
Hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

 

The focus of the 2006 seminar, entitled “Keeping Connected," is on current issues and strategies relevant to state member banks and bank holding companies.  The seminar will include topics covering the economy and current banking conditions, executive highlights of important regulatory topics, fundamentals of loan portfolio management, an examiners' discussion on effective compliance management programs in community banks, and an overview of emerging loan file imaging solutions.  We are confident you will find the information useful in planning for your bank’s long-term success.

Economic Update
Designated speakers will present an overview of current economic conditions in the region.  Speakers will include Kansas City Reserve Bank President Tom Hoenig (Kansas City sessions); Branch Executive Chad Wilkerson (Oklahoma sessions); Branch Executive Michael Orlando (Colorado & Wyoming sessions); and Senior Economist Jason Henderson (Nebraska & Wichita sessions).

Regional District Examiners
A comprehensive review of a community bank‘s compliance program.  Topics will include effective compliance officers, risk assessments, independent reviews, staff training, best practices, and other compliance program related information.

Emerging Loan File Imaging Solutions
Rick Lay, Assistant Vice President of Examinations and Inspections, Omaha Branch
Overview of imaging technology solutions for loan file administration, and a discussion of examiners' ability to use this information to conduct off-site loan reviews.  In addition, the ability to utilize secure email for communications and transmitting confidential information to the Federal Reserve Bank will be addressed.
